At the age of 19, Deniz started a small company in her parents’ garage. She designed bags from old car seat belts and sold them online. At first, nobody believed in her idea, and she failed many times. She couldn’t find investors, so she worked as a waitress to buy materials.

However, she never gave up. She listened to her customers, improved her designs and used social media to tell the story of each bag. Today her company recycles thousands of seat belts every year and employs 40 people. Deniz says, “Success is not about never failing. It is about learning from every failure.”

Mehmet grew up in a village where farmers often lost their crops because of unexpected frost. After studying computer engineering, he returned to his village with an idea. He developed a mobile app that sends farmers a warning when frost is likely, using weather data and small sensors in the fields.

In the first year, only ten farmers used the app. Mehmet visited coffee houses and taught older farmers how to use it. Three years later, more than 20,000 farmers use the app, and many of them say their losses have decreased. Mehmet believes that the best business ideas come from real problems in people’s lives.
